Gas leak detection and repair

If you can smell gas, open the windows and ring us. We trace the leak, isolate the line and repair it.

When you need this

A smell of gas near the meter or an appliance, a pilot light that will not stay lit, or a gas bill that does not match your usage.

Before we get there

Turn the gas off at the meter, open the doors and windows, and leave light switches alone. Then ring. This is the one job we will never ask you to wait until morning for.

Finding the leak

The installation is pressure tested as a whole first. If it drops, the line is split into sections until the failing one is isolated, then every joint in that section is checked electronically and confirmed with soap. Nothing is signed off until the line holds.

  • Gas appliance installation

    Heaters, hot water units, BBQ points and pool heaters, connected at the right pressure and vented properly.

  • Cooktop and oven connections

    Bayonet points, fixed connections, and the changeover when a new cooktop does not line up with the old gas point.

  • Gas hot water

    Continuous flow and storage units, repaired or replaced, with the gas line checked for the load you are adding.
